Should I Buy a Vortech MP10?

Currently in my LPS dominated 57G rimless reef tank I have a Mag 9.5 pump from my sump to my DT that splits into two directions when it enters the DT. I then also have a Koralia 750 pump in my DT. My question is whether or not my tank inhabitants would benefit from replacing the Koralia with a Vortech MP10 to get the more varied water flow through the DT?

Thanks
Pat

Judging from reviews and customer support from their section on this forum, without question your tank inhabitants and you will both be happier with the vortech.

Just a matter if the cost can be overcome.

The things are ridiculously expensive. That being said I just popped for one after initially believing I would never be that "crazy" to spend 200+ on this size powerhead.

For an LPS dominiated tank I would consider the lagoon flow mode.

trust me, the MP10 pushes some serious water. I have an older MP20 and the 10 hangs right there with it. You can run any mode you want and just adjust the speed according to your inhabitants.

The dry side of the assembly is what cost so much. I've had to replace a couple wet sides due to being too rough on them and they are not that expensive to replace.

The dry side is much more $$ and mine have worked flawlessly w/ no issues in 2 years.

Only issue is that my MP10 will hum a bit when its ramped up to 100%

No regrets though!
