Eshopps 100 in skimmer
Well I was sort of forced to go with this skimmer after my vertex didn't fit into my small sump. Darn! Lol. Anyways I have been more than pleased with the Eshopps skimmer. I've had it running for 2 days now and it's pulling out a lot of skimmate . Appears to be working great Anyone else have this skimmer?

Yes, I do, and it works very well for my 80g. In fact, too well. I have now put it on the timer with my lights. For the last week, my corals seem to like it as they are opening much more now. Here it is in my 80g -

wildman, how long do you run your skimmer with the time hooked up to it? I am somewhat new to skimming, how do I know if its pulling out too much? I am emptying the cup about once a day?? Of course the skimmer is in its break in period so its still building up the slime coat...
gld, I just bought mine and my adjustment pipe just turns left and right, can be a tad tricky adjusting the bubbles to the right level but Im sure it will get easier once skimmer breaks in, not sure about the pin wheel impeller? |

wildman, also what sump do you have there? I have the eshopps 75 and I can barely get my skimmer in there, might need a bigger one at some point. also what return pump do you have?

Would this be a good skimmer for a 40b with 15g sump?

Wildman, did Eshopps give a reason why they're not putting air silencers on these skimmers any more? And how loud was the skimmer without it? To OP: sorry didn't want to hijack your thread.

Where do I pick up one of those silencers and how does it fit on to skimmer? I am new sorry ha, and I seen on another thread that you created an overflow box for the return to stop the bubbles, can you explain what you did a bit more on that? Thanks

It fits on the end of the air tube. The air tube threads through a hole in the blue mounting bracket. I don't know what you mean about the overflow box. |
