Hydor Evo #3 Reviews please!
Are these worth the money? I don't have the money to go TUNZE or ECO ($$$) but I found a 2 pk for $78.00 and just want to make sure these are not junk! One on each end of my 72 BF. Please let me know what you think of these pumps and if they are worth my time or not! Thanks!

Hydra makes a solid entry level powerhead. I would say go for it.

They work just fine, look pretty good, and take up little room in the tank.....in the event you have an issue, Hydor is quick with parts in the mail.

The new Evolution models come in 240, 425, 550, 750, 1050, and 1400gph. The old Koralia 3 was 850gph if I remember right.
They are a good pump made in Italy (not china). And the customer service is top notch, not that you'll ever need to use it.

I have 2 x evo 1400's, the biggest in that line. The are completely no frills, constant rate powerheads. They have been both quiet and reliable so far, and only draw 6 watts of power, so very cheep to run. I do cycle them on/off using my controller, and they do just fine with that.

Yes, the one's I will be getting are the Evo's 1040's (x2) and they will be controlled via either a Reef Fanatic or Ocean Pulse controller

I have 3 EVO 1400's on my 135 gal and ran them on a redsea pro wavemaker and they started to run in reverse all the time and clicked and chattered on start up. However Hydor has a fix for them and will send you the parts to fix them should they malfunction, I am waiting for my new bushings and front covers and will most likely just run them on all the time instead of the wavemaker. Great pumps for the money I would buy them again even though the reverse problem.

I have 2 750's and they work well and move more water than the older ones did. They are quiet and I like the magnetic suction cup mounts. I do wish they could be turned at more of a angle but you can work with them. Also I noticed these pumps will run backwards, if they do just flip the plug around.
