leds for a small tank
Hi,
I have some leds that i'm wondering if they would be ok for some sps in a 20g tank. 24X12X16. It's 2 of these http://cgi.ebay.ca/500mm-27W-20000K-...item3368bac880 I've got a 460nm and a 15 000k. Got them used at a very good price. Was just going to use them to light my qt tank but i'm wondering if they would be able to grow sps on my 20g tank? Can i get your opinion please?

Thanks doggydoc. Well mine are certainly not as nice and probably as bright as your AI. But i would like to know if mine would still be able to grow sps. I don't know much about leds obviously LOL

I think they should be ok. How tall is the tank? I think if you mount them 7-10 inches above the tank, you should be ok.

Be careful. There are no heat sinks that you can see. The heat will kill them pretty fast.

Does not say whose LEDs, but they will probably work. You may need to keep the SPS toward the top.

Ok thank. Well i already have them so i'll use them for now. I'll put some cheap sps frag in there to test. I'll probably replace them by cree leds (diy) later on.
thanks for the input.
