?'s on Vue (Coralvue) Ballast

I purchased a CoralVue 250W ballast from Hellolights. It pushed a crappy 250DE Odessa 15k into a really crisp white. The ballast is pretty meaty and heavy. I just purchased an additional Vue (I assume its CoralVue) ballast from another member. The ballast is a 250w but it is a bit lighter than my other one and it is pushing the same exact bulb bluer. What do you think that means? Is the heavier one burning hotter or is that the reverse? I wanted to build a dual 250MH bulb for my new 65H but I don't want one side of the tank a different color then the other. The ballast look identical except for the weight and one needs an IEC power cable and the other has it built in.

Electronic ballast are fairly light. I have 2 CV ballast that were made in 04 and another that was 08? All three weigh the same and lamp color look exactly the same. If it is heavy it is electromagnetic and is not a original CV Electronic ballast which I am hoping is not the case?

This is the one I have http://www.hellolights.com/250wattsi...-coralvue.aspx
and the other one has no cords on it (you have to connect the IEC cord to it) and is all blue instead of the front and back being silver.

One of those is older...actually quite old....likely it's from Vue Technology, now Coralvue. They started off in the lighting business before they started distributing other aquarium equipment.

There is always some uncertainty when using two different ballasts with the same bulb, but in this case I would think that once you get a new pair of bulbs and install both over the tank you should be fine. If the subtle color difference bothers you that much, then just replace it later.
