MP10wES...disappointment?

Maybe I am not operating it correctly, but after all the videos of intense waves I have seen online I can not help but be a little disappointed with what I am getting out of the machine. Even in my 40 breeder I don't seem to be getting the same results as what has been advertised. Granted its not all about making waves, it has many other functions the make this pump irreplaceable in a reef aquarium. However, I thought I'd be clever and try this wave thing to no avail.

Thoughts?

The advertisements (videos) of waves are a bit misleading since they are done in bare tanks. I have mine in a 34 gallon cube with 40 pounds of rock and I can get a rocking motion but no big fat wave like I was expecting.

In the end I set it to reefcrest mode realizing the big rocking waves are just for show.

Wave or not, I think your corals will be happy with the random water movement.

Depends on your aquascape and how you have positioned the pump vertically on the aquarium wall. If you have a lot of rock, and the pump is low you're not going to get a wave.

The wave's are cool but i think the corals would appreciate more flow....it should do a great job of that. Try reef crest.

you can auto tune a wave. It takes a few minutes for the frequency to get right and from there you stil have to fine tune it. Took me a while to get it right.

As an added bonus, when you turn to nutrient transport mode, it will use your saved wave frequency as part of the program!
