How to rinse sand?
When i did my first tank, i rinsed the sand in a bucket. thing is i lost A LOT of sand in the process, so i guess thats not the most effective means of rinsing. I will get CaribSea Aragamax fine sand, so i was wondering how i would rinse it?

I always tilted the bucket at a 45 degree angle with the hose in the bucket. Lightly swirled the sand with my hand and the overflowing water carries the dust away. Keep the flow down and don't go crazy moving the sand.

To keep from losing sand, I put the rinse bucket in a plastic storage container
( 30" x 14" x 8" ). Did the tilted bucket and slow flow thing, but some sand did overflow, but it pretty much stopped in the plastic container.

I put all my fine sand in a pillow case and just ran water through the pillow case.

My wife has cheesecloth drying towels that I have used and they worked great. I just didn't tell her what I did.
