Aquastar MH bulbs

Just curious if anyone has any feedback on the usage and intensity of these bulbs and what ballasts are you running it on.

Thanks Mord. To each their own. I'm curious as to the PAR that the bulbs are emitting and for how long the color is consistant. Its hard finding a 14k bulb that gives the best of both worlds. I love 10ks myself but they do not do many favors to lps or softies as far as color accentuation goes and 20ks..too blue for me!

Yes , it was me. I like whiter bulbs more than very blue ones, and the color was not bad....I just did not really care for it. It is a very subjective area.

Not sure on the PAR, although it was a brighter bulb, and they claim they should be very consistent.

What ballast are you using?

I ended up switching back to 175w Iwasaki 14ks on electronic ballasts( i use a switchable Lumatek) Overall it is a very white bulg, but Sanjay says it is a true 14-15k bulb. Tremedously bright, definitely on the white side, and fantastic PAR that stomps most 250w bulbs. I use LED actinics, and they look very good with it, i am planning on adding another strip of blue LED.

Here is Toddrtrex's tank lit with Iwasakis:

Any update on this bulb? I'm looking at the 14500K specifically. Any par values? Any pictures?

thanks!
