Bristle worm????

Wasnt sure what forum to post so i figured this post would get a lot of exposure here.

My tank is a yr old i just noticed a pinkish-white worm coming out of a piece of lr on the bottom of my tank. It is roaming the tank when the actinics are on but as soon as I try to get a picture with the daylights on it retreats. The fact its out with any lights on is causing me to question if it is a bristle. Everything ive read on them says they will only come out when its totally dark.

Thoughts?

Steve

Sounds like a bristle. Ours come out partially at feeding time, too LOL.

Everything I've read and heard says they are impossible to remove. should I worry about it? I'm about three months away from a tank upgrade where most of the stuff in my current tank will move to.

The only thing I'd worry about is wearing gloves when you move your tank contents over to the new tank. Otherwise, they are just another part of your clean up crew. An ugly member, but not a bad member. If you set your rock out to air dry for a few minutes during the move, the worms will likely start to come out of the rock. You can pick them out with tweezers if you want to thin the herd or if you want to remove particularly large ones.

You want them. If you don't have them you should buy some.
They'll come out any time there's food to be had. But if you lose a snail, they'll save you from an ammonia spike.
