Id ?

I just noticed a tiny creature in the crack of a rock, too small to take a photo, I can see 3 hairlike tentacles that are banded light and dark.some type of starfish? It's so small I'm sure it's not a problem and obviously a hitchhiker.thoughts?

Probably a mini sea star or some kind of worm, like a spaghetti worm(?)... could be a lot of things, some good and maybe some not so good. I know you said it's too small to take a photo, but if it's big enough that you can see color banding on the legs/tentacles then you need to try a pic... or get a better camera. LOL

It sounds like a tiny brittle star which is a good thing.

Does it look like this?

That's it! So what's good about it? And how big will it get?

They are a mini clean up crew and get in places that most things can't. They won't get any bigger than it already is.

This mini brittles are great. They stay in the rocks and clean up the stuff that settles there. They will multiply if there is food for them. You will hardly see them come out, just their legs swaying from inside the rock
