Question Please Help me find the right protein skimmer.

Hey guys Im shopping around for a protein skimmer for my reef ready Tru-Vu tank. Its a 90 Gal tank with a 20 Gal sump in the back. the only problem is that the sump is a awkward trapezoidal shape and its only 5" wide with a 1/4 lip around the edge so the total opening for the sump area is about 4-3/4" by about 9" and the total height is 24". Im really not sure about any of this stuff, this is my first SW set up. I've been looking at the Coralife super skimmer for a 125 Gallon tank which says its 5" x 7-1/4" x 24" but I'm not sure if i can fit it over the 4-3/4 opening. An suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like the tru view that is designed for bioballs. I had one like that 18 years ago. Good tank but I hated the sump in the back. That drip tray was a PIA so I removed the tray/ balls and ran macro with a 6500k coralife compact in there instead.

I would suggest a good HOB or external mounted on a stand.

The Reef Octopus HOB's are worth looking at

I'd stay away from the coralife skimmer though-just my .02

Aquacave has a great selection of Octos
