Looks normal to me!
You need some "drop" inside the overflow box.
It should stay there and not change unless you move the pipe up or down.

Agree with Vinny. It will hang at that level in relation to the drain pipe. If you want to quiet it down a little you can raise the drain some, but try and leave yourself at least a 1/2" drop.

Lol I live in holbrook so I'm kinda near a beach. Quick question I put a piece of plexi glass on the bottom of my tank so the rock wouldn't just be sitting on the glass. Do I have to worry about water getting "trapped" underneath it? I only ask this because my water is alittle cloudy but there is nothing that's live in there just dry rock.

If its not siliconed down stuff will eventually work its way under it. Its not the water that you have to worry about, its the poop more or less.

Are you going bare bottom?
