HOB Refugium Lighting

Hello everyone. I have a Reef Octopus hob refugium, I would like to grow macro in. I've been looking at possible lighting options and I've decide to do it in the form of a "strip light". I've seen some nice twin bulb t5 fixtures. I think I will be going with that or an incandescent "strip" fixture running cheaper spiral compacts. The refugium already sits a bit above the top of tank, and I would also like to leave the top of the refugium open. I want a clean look so I don't want a clip on light or any other variation dangling above the back of tank, shining light on everything. So my question is. Can I mount a strip light to the side of the refugium shining light through? I would assume the macro wouldn't care which directon the light came from as long as its there. Thanks

Haha. Thanks. Such a simple answer. It has a fairly low profile? My biggest concern, seeing as it will be on the opposite light cycle of the tank, is having light getting in the display.
