Looking for guidance

Hi TBS aquarists! We have just decided to start building our tank. After meeting Richard in the Caribbean 4 years ago, his live sand/rock package has long since been in the back of our minds. We've decided now is the time!!!!!

Because we are brand new to the aquarium scene, Richard suggested we ask you all for your advise, help and encouragement. I know there are probably other forums but we would really appreciate the hands on experience you all have with your TBS tanks.

So far we have purchased a 40 gallon "breeder" tank and a 10 gallon tank (for the "naughty" hitchhikers). The only fish we must build our tank towards is a clown fish (or 2) for our 3 year old son to enjoy...we definatley want others but are still learning which one's will be appropriate with the clowns.

Please guide us towards the neccessary tank accessories that we now need to purchase:
Skimmer? What brand/size?
50/50 light for fish and corals? What brand/size/watts?
Tank circulation? What do we use to create a good current?
Others?

This looks like so much to ask of you all but please, your experience and knowledge will be greatly appreciated. We live in Arizona and have yet to find a "expert" shop to ask such questions.

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for the education you'll be providing us

You will get more replies in the "New to the Hobby forum". ( It's where you post questions like these).

Don't listen to what the LFS says, cause chances are, they are lying to sell something, or just plain don't know. None of the LFS's around here are knowledgeable.

Good luck with your tank!

Not all LFS are like that, I'm not at least. Most of your questions don't pertain to TBS itself, so I would post those in the New To The Hobby section at the top of the forums.

Thank you both for your recommendations, I will try the NTTH forum as well. I am just nervous to go to a general forum where others may not be familiar with the natural system offered through TBS...I don't want to be directed to get items that are unneccessary for the tank. Wish me luck
