powerhead moving the sand...
I just added another 1" of sand to my tank and added 2 more powerheads. I have all four of my powerheads on the back glass pointing to the front. Now I noticed that a couple of the powerheads are starting to move my sand and its creating some low spots.
Any suggestions on positions? I slowly keep adjusting the Powerheads but no improvements yet. FYI- I have 3 koralia 750's and 1 koralia 1050 in my 110 gal. Thank you |

id let the sand get pushed where it wants to and leave it alone since if u add more to that spot it will just get pushed again and build up a mound of sand. try positioning the power heads in multiple ways to see if it gets any better. pics would help to see the problem.... if you can i would try to save up some money and consider buying a echotech pump. i know they are a little pricey but man its like night and day compared to other powerheads. the under toe these pumps create keeps my sand bed very clean and doesnt blow it around but actually levels any high spots which makes that bed look really nice.
