Which do you prefer for supplementation?
I was always under the impression that T5s should be my sups to my MHs... I have dual 250 12k Phoenix HQIs and 6x 54w T5HOs of various color over my 120g. I have actually found that the color balance of the T5s are perfect and the MH blue the water.
I know the simple answer is to lower the bulb temp and choose T5s to supplement the color variation. But my discrepancy here is that the intensity of the MH is so great that I figure it should be the defining color and the T5s just add to the mix. Should I keep the blue MHs and change the T5 coloration to more daylight spectrum or get a 10k bulb and keep my T5s? Also... The MHs are being drowned out by the T5 outputs. Its on a standard 120. Do you think I should cut back on the T5s from 6 to 4 or 2? |

It depends on what look you want. Try 14K's on your Metal Halides next time to see what they look ike or take a look at other reefer lights to get an idea of what to chage to....
