Algae ID please.

Im interested in the blue green criss cross type on this rock that I normally see all over the carribean coral reef rocks.

These are Dictyota dichotoma.

Thank You! I see this stuff all over Caribbean Reefs. But only the iridescent blues and light greens types. It actually looks nice and doesn't seem to choke out the corals.

That stuff can be a bit of a nightmare though, I once saw it tear through a 20,000 gallon system in two weeks. Like one day it was nowhere, and then it was everywhere in 8 30' raceways... Basically be careful if you're putting it in your tank
