ID Please! Is this some sort of sponge and is it bad?

Yeah, there's an LFS here that has a ton of that kind of sponge in their tanks.

If it is really purple and rubbery looking like that, it could be remnants of some soft coral, maybe star polyps or something.

I type slow. SushiGirl sounds like she knows what she is talking about...just ignore me!

Yup, it's a sponge. I have some of them in my tank.
