Direct Connect 8 vs Energy Bar 8?

Just bought a AC3 with a DC8 used from a guy local. I am going to be needing more outlets controllable and was going to be ordering in a new part. I see both the Energy Bar 8 and the Direct Connect 8 but dont see a big difference in them on a quick glance. Anyone able to break this down for me or have one of each and know the pros v cons of each against each other?

AC3 = DC8, the other is for the newer Apex based system. You can use either DC8 or the DC4HD.

Perfect. Makes sense why they are pretty much identical setups if they are for AC3 vs Apex. Will get the DC8 ordered up. Thanks.

The AC3 will allow you to monitor current. The DC8 will not.

Some kind of misinformation here so I'll try to clarify.

DC8, DC4, DC4HD were all created during the period of the AC3.

EB8 is Apex only and has the ability to monitor amps. EB8 can not be used on a AC3, but the Apex IS capable of using older DC8/DC4/DC4HD's however it can not monitor amps.
