Specific Gravity*

Do your water changes with water that matches your hypo treatment until you are done with hypo.

I assume when you say water line you mean the water level in your tank?

Anyway, yes, you do water changes about once a week, or more frquently if the water parameters deteriorate faster, using 1.009 specific gravity or salinity. One of the problems is evaporation. If you get too much evaporation, your salinity will rise above 1.010, dooming your treatment to failure. Keep a close eye on your salinity and the "water line" in your tank. Keep your tank topped off frequently or set up an ATO with RODI water.

Yea I meant water level haha. Thanks for making it clear , I will probably have to do more frequent water changes since I will have 4 fish in a 55 qt.. So if the salt level ever goes to .10 at any time I have to restart the 4 weeks?

The actual number for failure varies, but the upper limit appears to be 1.012. I wouldn't sweat 1.010 as I came close to that a few times, but if it goes above that, say 1.011 or 1.012, then I would restart the 28 day count.

You can watch your pod population boom with no predators!

BTW, don't forget to feed the DT a pinch of flakes or something daily, for the CUC and the bacteria.
