Eheim 1250 enough?

Is Eheim 1250 (317gph) is enough flow for 70g sps only tank with few fish?
The tank dimension is 30"x30"x18" with 30g refugium sump. Please anyone advise?

Thanks

I think u should go with the 1260 or even with the 1262, i have 1262 on my 57g but my return feeds my GFO and carbon reactor, and i think that the 1262 is little small for this, so i think the 1250 will be way to small for ya

I agree that the 1250 will be too small. It may pump 317gph at 0 head, but by the time it pumps the water up to your tank it's probably going to be pushing less than 200gph, maybe a lot less (depending on your setup). I would go with a 1260.

Agreed, I run a 1260 on my 50 gallon tank and would not go any smaller. On a 70 gallon tank, the 1262 would probably be a better choice, but I think you could get by on a 1260.

I tried a 1250 on a 30 gallon over a 25 gallon sump and thought it was way too little flow.

Running a 1260 now and I think it's a little high but well within reason.

Yes, 1260 for sure. When I test my 1250 after head loss I was doing about 125gph. When I upgraded to my 65g I moved up to the 1260, which I now use as my return and I T it off to run my GFO reactor.
