Livestock Ideas

My tank is finally ready to put some fish in it! It is a 65gallon 36inches long looking for some ideas as to what I can stock in the tank.

Banghi cardinal. Firefish. 3Chromis. Then wait 3 weeks. Research some others that interest you. Carefully.

Whatever you decide on, don't add several fish at once. I wouldn't suggest adding more than 2 smaller fish at once. Then wait a week or so before adding another one.
That having been said, you could always start with a pair of Clowns. I love my Midas Blenny; very cool fish. A Flasher Wrasse would be nice, maybe a McCosker's or Carpenter's. How about Royal Gramma? Goby and Pistol Shrimp pair?

Pair of clowns (not maroons), royal gramma, midas blenny, flasher wrasse (with tank cover) tiger goby. These are some of my favorites and reef safe too.

My tank was made by a place in AZ... the censor will not allow their name on here. I'll send you a pm with more details.

Peaceful (reef safe) Ideas: +1 Pair of clowns (other than Maroon), Flasher or Fairy Wrasse or a Dragonet (not both), Watchman Goby & Snapping Shrimp... maybe some Chromis (I like the "blue reef," which are deep blue)...

If you're ok with not having inverts. and having a few aggressive fish: Papuan Toby /Valentini Puffers... check out liveaquarias marine fish section, as they have nice pictures and care requirements for many different options

Once again Ill throw my vote in as I always do and it always gets overlooked.

A scooter or red scooter. Cant get better personality out of a fish

And also tomato clowns have been known to be agressive too

I have one and love the little guy. Not the most colorful....but you will notice him in a tank after a minute. Has a dorsal fin with spots on it and will flash it. Its really cool. It does a little dance when he does it...or at least mine does. They come in standard variety, which is like white, gray and brown, but can change color with their environment and even can change purple in the face. And a red variety....which Im hoping to get for my 40 breeder. They scoot on the sand a rocks and makes a great sand sifter. If you dont have a sand bed, dont get one. They sleep and hide in the sand.

Their actual name is an occelated dragonette....so it is like a mandarin, or part of the same family, but more likely to eat prepared foods and can be feed it. Mine has been getting fatter and fatter on bloodworms and mysis.

If I suddenly had re-stocking my 65, I would get a bi-color blenny, a flame hawnfish, a pink spotted watchman goby, a smaller species flasher/fairy wrasse, and a cherub pygmy angel. A lot of good suggestions all around though, look at the chalk basslet too!
