Help me identify this pest growing on my clam's shell!
Over the course of several months this hard, worm like tube has grown on my deresa clam's shell and it is approaching the mantle area. Has anyone seen this before or know what it is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These are growing on rocks in several other places around my tank. I am assuming it is some type of worm inside it laying down a calciferous tube but it's hard to tell. |

vermatid snails. not really a pest, but they can be sharp and cut your fingers. They are in every reef tank and frequently have "explosions" of growth around the tank in high nutrient conditions.

I would break it off the rock/shell or glue it shut.
