is there an ATO for sumpless tanks?

Trying to find an ATO that will work in a sumpless tank, and not look suspiciously out of place...is there one?

the JBJ gets good reviews but im not sure how the sensor looks in the tank.

(i know i can just fill it up myself, but i'm trying to get out of it)

I use a double float switch from autotopoff.com on my sumpless system.

Don't see why the Avast Marine one wouldn't work in a sumpless tank. Actually, it looks like one of the better options I've seen for a sumpless tank as it doesn't look very obtrusive in the tank.

I have a "Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155" on my 55-gallon sumpless tank and it's the greatest since sliced bread. I've had the Tunze ATO for about 18 months and it's reliable and does a great job. I did some tests and the sensor reacts to about a cup and a half of water taken out of the tank. You do have to keep the sensor clean, but that seems to happen only every six months or so.

tunze osmolater hands down. very universal. you can set it for sump, display tank, over flow, etc. well worth the money, more reliable, and accurate then a float switch.

have had my tunze for going on three years now without any issues. still using the original pump it came with and have accidentally ran it dry a few times (oops). Still works fine though.

I used to run mine on a AIO JBJ tank. Fit nicely in the tight little chamber! Mine has the bracket mounts and the new ones have magnetics. Much easier to place them now!

mine holds my level to within 1/8 of an inch (measured!). Much better than the floats I used to use with maxi's.

another note on the tunze is that the optical sensor doesn't get bothered with turbulence. The sensor needs to be exposed for a couple of seconds before the switch on the controller fires. No float to stick is a plus in my book.

Pricy but I'd rather spend a couple bills on peace of mind considering all the money invested between livestock and other vital equipment that can be killed or damaged by a failed ATO.

I know no ones mentioned it but the Elos Osmono system works amazing. The sensor takes up a minimal amount of space compared to ANY unit I have seen to date while detecteing even small differences.
