Cyano is gone.. Now what?
Been battling cyano for several months now and things seem to be under control finally. After doing several 50% water changes and now weekly 10-15% water changes the tank is looking 100% better. At the same time I also removed the sponge that was in the chamber of my HOB octopus BH-100S skimmer. It was loaded with tons of crap which I figured was fueling nitrates. I decided to keep it out and wondering now if that is the problem. The water looks cleaner than it ever has before but I am noticing this fine algae which at first I thought was pods but is not. It is on the glass and seems to be mats of it on the back glass. Pictures are hard to take but have attached a few shots.
Salinity is 1.023 CA 480 dkH 7.2 Mg 1350 phosphate 0, nitrates 0 using RODI Is it possible this is due to removing the sponge out of the chamber and this is the crap that usually collects there? |
