When Should Macro Algae be Added?

At what point should macro algae, such as chaeto, be added to my fuge?

I put mine in the same day I set it up to start producing pods.

The sooner the better.
Much easier to prevent a nutrient problem than to fix one.

I have 2 other macros in my fuge too, and leave the lights on 24/7.

Mine comes on right after the tank lights go off so at like 9pm. I run it till 2am then off till 8am. Then they are on till the tank lights come on at 3. Just how I do it I dont think there is a set rule.

Add the macro(s) ASAP. Better to get a step ahead on nutrients than to start a war with them.

Hmm I think you want it added during the cycle. I would say after you have no ammonia, but have nitrite after the nitrite spike. This would prevent a lot of pods dying if you want them but soon enough to get the nitrate absorbed as it is going up.
