HOB Cone/cylinder Skimmers: Why aren't more made??
I'm trying to find a new hob skimmer for my 30g. My remora nano isn't doing what it could (despite regular maintenance and vinegar baths), and i know that a tall, cone shaped skimmer with round collection cup would probably work better...
but why aren't any made?!? i ordered an eshopps psk75h, but had to return it, as the adjustment knobs wouldn't clear my aquaticlife t5's. I'd also rather have as few items in the DT viewing area as possible anyway, and while i'm at it i might as well get something quiet! can anyone recommend something for me?? oceanic? corallife? instant ocean? |

There are only a couple HOB skimmers that work well, with many factors working against their performance.
Cylinders are much more condusive than rectangular boxes. I would reccomend one of these three, from least expensive to most expensive: -Eshopps -Bubble Magus -ATB Multi If those wont work, I would reccomend the JNS V1/Aquamaxx HOB-1 as it is quiet.
