I'd say no on that small of a tank but Damsels really don't get that 'large. They get up to 3" of size usually.

No to long term housing in a damsel in a 5 gallon tank. Even the smallest damsels should be kept in at least a 20 gallon tank.

No, sorry. Nothing less than a 50 for the very smallest, and ideally 100 gallons.
For fish appropriate for a 10, try the tiniest gobies.

Damsels need far larger tanks than most think. Like Sk8r said, 100+ gallon tank being ideal. I plan on keeping a starki in my 125 and it shouldn't be as bad as people say they are with all the space it will have.

Damsels are wonderful fish, bright, colorful, fast moving, will school---there's little not to love. I had a 100 g for years (and sold it intact) with primarily a mixed variety of damsels, and they never bothered gobies, blennies, angels, dragonets, pseudochromis, royal grammas, or clarkii clowns---in point of fact, it was the clownfish I had to move out as too aggressive and, with the dottyback, the only fin-nippers I had.
