Sweet! Can you tell me the exact settings you are using? Are you using Aperature priority? What f stop? etc. I want to replicate what you have and see what I can get. I have it dialed in pretty good for coin (stationary)photography but that's about it.

And as important as f-stop is for light and depth of field, what shutter speed to 'freeze' the fish movement. Even on a point and shoot, we can adjust 'film speed' to try and get them both right.

Ok, so I'll explain some things, then let's move over to the Photog forum. I'm trying to increase traffic over there anyway. Normally I always shoot in full manual. If I'm out and need to be quick I'll go to AP. How I set Apt is kinda dependant on the lens and conditions. Most lenses, (including pro ones), will have a sweet spot. This is normally somewhere in the middle of it's range. Unless I need speed, I'm between 8 and 11.5. Going beyond 11.5 or so, will decrease sharpness as you get further up, so I try to stay away from that.
If you look through the photog forum you'll find threads about everything. There are some very good landscape guys. Of coarse there's macro work because of the hobby, but it goes well beyond that. Here's a thread of mine that goes on for about 2 years.

Just a sample.

There are lots of others. We really like wildlife.

And flowers!!!

For your wife Ron!!!

Come on over. We have lots of fun. Also feel free to comment on past and present threads. No doubt you'll find something that interests you.
