Question Skimmer help needed

Ive been out of the saltwater hobby for a few years and am finally getting back into it. Im setting up my standard 75 gal tank. It will be setup for softies. My question is what is a good HOB skimmer? Local salt store i dealt with in the past is reccomending an aquamax skimmer. Im wondering what everyones opinion is and what other options do I have besides what they carry.

Thaks in advance
Rob

The aquamax hob is supposed to be pretty good. Another option is the coralvue sro-lx1000 hob.

Any other hob skimmers anyone can think of to run on my 75? I was looking at the remora skimmer? Any thoughts on it as well?

A lot people (me included) are using the Reef Octopus HOB skimmers and I think most seem to like them (I know I do). I have a BH 2000 on my 30G and I bought it because it should be able to handle my 75G (when/if I give up FW).

Some people even run the HOB on the back of a sump - which is what I plan to do for my 75G.

The remora is fairly dated now and fairly loud. Not that it wasn't a decent beginner skimmer when it first came out. But there's a lot better skimmers out there now.

Like already mentioned the new SRO-lx1000 HOB and the AquaMaxx HOB would be great for your 75 with the lx1000 being a bit more powerful.

Eshops psk100h would be pushed I think to it's limits on a 75 but probably still a better option then the remora.

The Bubble Magus NAC5e would be another option and was one of my favorites on my 55.

The deltec mce600 is dated but still a good performer but still really expensive brand new so look for one used for half the price.

ATB makes a multiuse cone that would work great as well on the 75 but also on the upper end of the budget.
