Old salt

My buddy gave me what looks like a old thing of tropic marin pro reef salt I don't believe salt would ever go bad but I have to ask if it does just in case

I don't think it goes bad but it might loose some of its nutrients in it, Calcium etc. I think i read that before somewhere on a post.

Make up a batch, and let any cloudiness settle out. Then if the alkalinity is OK, the batch is good to go.

In some mixes, organics may degrade over time, but I've not seen the Tropic Marin Pro Reef make any claims about added organics being present.

I've had a sealed unused tub of Tropic Marin salt sitting in my garage for about 6 years. I was planning on using it next month. I'll assume what you said, Randy, still holds - regardless of how long it's been unused?
