ID Please? Branchy growth + starfish-shaped coral

I have a few of these popping up on one side of my tank:


I also picked up this coral from a LFS. Has purple and green "legs" and green dots:

1 is harmless..sponge of some sort

2..did it come with the rock? Need a better picture perhaps, but it looks like a small plate coral

Came on the rock, but was sold as a frag (not as a rock).

Still a cell phone pic, but I think this is a little better. I need to clean my glass.

It's a plate coral, I had one that looks just like it come in with a frag.
