Very nice selection of corals. Great to see a fellow reefer coming from the disability populations.

Thanks.
Well, I'm not disabled and didn't wish to claim that honorable distinction . I did spend over 20 yrs working with developmentally disabled people and their families. I like to think I helped improve their quality of life; opened hundreds of group homes and helped to close several old instituions including the infamous Willowbrook on Staten Island and the Suffolk Developmental center in your neck of he woods. I have many friends in that community and they have come by to see the aquariums.

I missed our question before: Here are the scrubbers, one for each skimmer: Not much to it . Just 32oz plastic juice bootle with slots ripped in the bottom for air to enter and a piece of tube through a drilled hole at the top with a little plumbers goop to seal it ( silicone would work too) . The tubing used should allow you to slide your skimmer air hose into it for a snug fit. Some feet (I made mine out of scraps of eggcrate)glued to the bootom edges to raise it a half inch for airflow under the bottle. Fill it with about 4 inches of soda lime and it's ready to go for a month or more. It changes t opurple so you know when it's exhausted.. Be sure to use a bottle that is wide at the top or at least so the exit tube reaches a wide spot . If it narrows a lot it will whistle loudly.

Good Morning Tom. Although you, personally, are probably weary of answering all of the many questions asked of you, I'm very glad that this particular thread was rejuvenated. If it is not too much trouble, can you please answer one more question regarding your amazing tank/s? I know you use Purigen as well as GAC in your system/s and you state that you employ both in reactors. Can you please tell me what method you use with regard to the Purigen? i.e. do you rinse the media before placing it in the reactor, do you use the round sponges to hold the media in place, do you tumble the media or pack it pretty solid as you would carbon etc.. The reason I ask is because the manufacturer recommends using a filter bag and I would like to use the Purigen in a reactor such as yourself. Thank you Tom.

I use a fine mesh bag a canister filter for the purigen.
If I said reactor earlier I was using the term to encompass both the reactors ,tlf, and brs as well as the canister filter I use. . Sorry if that was confusing;sometimes in the interest of brevity , I leaveout important details.

I think the Purigen would blow out of a reactor
