molting hermit crabs
I have a hermit crab which I think is molting (can't really make it out since he's behind some rocks). Do I need to worry about other animals eating him while he's in this state? I have one damsel and a bunch of other hermits and snails.

Out of all the inverts that molt in my tank I worry about hermit crabs the least. They can retract into their shells to most dangers. Their only real enemy in their weakened state after molting is other hermits. If you tank has lots of nooks and crannies he should be fine. Keeping creatures well fed is the best way to keep away predatory and cannibalistic behavior, this includes hermits as well.
