Calcium Reactor Help
Going to be setting up a 30x24x14 tank. Roughly 43g display and probably closer to 60g total after you figure in your sump.
I want to have a SPS/LPS tank and plan to take a dive into the world of either Kalk Reactor or Calcium Reactor. So...I have been looking into a Deltec PF509, which is rated at around about 119 US gallons. Now for my questions: -Anyone ever use one of these before? -Looks like it comes with a reactor/eheim pump/bubble counter/solenoid...Do i just need a CO2 tank and media? -Doesn't have a Ph Monitor hole will this matter? -Should i just look into a Kalk Reactor instead? Any feedback will help even if you just know a lot about calcium reactors. |

IMO, you need to have a ph probe and a controller for the c02. If you dont have a way to monitor pH then you are going to have a rough time dialing in your reactor.
If i was you i would look into a couple dosing pump and run 2 part, your tank wont have a large enough demand to require a calcium reactor to save money compared to dosing 2 part. you have to figure that a good reactor will set you back 600$, for half that you can do two dosing pumps and be done with it. I run a reactor only because i built it and that saved enough costs to make it worth my while. |
