painting overflow box

I recently bought a used LifeReef Overflow box. Its the clear version and it looks ugly against my black wall. Could i paint it black with Krylon Fusion and will it have any negative effects on my tank?

If you only paint the outside I don't see how it could have a negative effect...

I want to paint the box that goes inside the water with black krylon fusion. What you think?

I wouldn't. It will be covered with coraline algae after a while. To me the risk of toxins aren't worth it.

As long as you let it fully cure for a few days, you will be fine. No toxins will be released

I painted my overflow box before and it was safe, as long it was completely dry. Coraline algae will just over grow the painted area. you will be fine with krylon fusion paint.
