X- alcohol based hand sanitizer drum for ato water?

Looking at buying a drum for ato water.
Found some but they used to have alcohol based hand sanitizer in them.
Could these be cleaned and used for water?
If so what should I clean with?

I expect it is OK if you rinse really well with water. The traces of alcohol are no concern. But you'd want to get rid of the moisturizers and such that might be present.

If you have a link to the name brand of the hand sanitizer so we can see the claims, we might know with more confidence

The MSDS doesn't list anything aside from the ethyl alcohol. It's the foaming thing that is throwing me. I think I would also give it a good rinse / wipe down with some strong alcohol with a good water rinse before and after. Just to be on the extra safe side.

Yes, a good rinse is probably adequate.

Thanks guys. I'll pick one up and give it a good cleaning. Hard to beat $6 a drum when a new one cost $100
