I would like to know as well. I've been looking at Reef Octopus and Bubble Magus. Looking to buy one within 6-8 weeks. Bumparoo

My octo xtreme is the only noise! From my 75. Not the quiet choice. Good skimmer but not quiet.

So far Im decing between the Tunze Doc Skimmer 9410 priced at $400.00 or the SWC Xtreme 160 Cone Protein Skimmer at $275.00. The tunze defintly has a more reilable pump, twice as efficient. I dont know about noise level though. |

check out the new CAD lights skimmers, they are reasonably priced and there highlights are that they are silent, and put off no micro bubbles.

I have a Tunze 9010...Very quiet, so I am guessing the 9410 would be the same.
As for the others, they suck a lot of air into the chamber, but can be silenced with silencers placed on the air intake. Bubble Mangus, H&S, and others either include or sell silencers with the skimmers. |
