What are these
Over the last month and a half these things are spreading everywhere in my refuguim, sump and in my protein skimmer, basically everywhere in my 55 gallon sump. Jusy yesterday I changed my bulbs because of the algae taking over so I'm not sure if the algae is the cause. Anyway I searched on the web and can not find anything. Here are a couple pictures. They are opaque white and almost look like some sort of snail, however they do not move.

If they don't move, I would guess they are a type of sponge. Interesting little clusters. Do they react at all if you touch them with something? If they stay stuck in place but react to being touched, they may be tunicates.
Either are fine.

They do not react when touched. I even pulled one out of the water and messed with it a little, no movement. I have a koran angel (who's main diet is sponge) so I tossed it in the water to see what would happen, they just looked at it until the skimmer pulled it in.
Any other ideas? |
