Need help with skimmer size for my 10 gal nano!!!

I have a 10 gal nano reef with 2 gal Hang on the back fuge, a fluval in tank filter with spray bar. I have a Handful of corals and three small fish. I want to add a skimmer on the tank but I'm not sure which on to go with. I've been looking at the reef octopus skimmer and the aquatic life mini 115, which would be better for my size and bio load?

I can vouch that Reef Octopus makes good skimmers, but best advice is get the the best one you can afford that will fit on the tank. Most skimmers less than $100 will produce more noise than skimmate.

I know they make a reef octopus for a 10-15 gal is there a way to muffle the noise? Somehow with like a filter sponge?

I don't have experience with it so I can't vouch for that particular model, but if I was looking into purchasing an HOB nano skimmer, I'd consider the Octopus BH-100 (up to 50 gallons) over the 20 gallon version or the Aquatic Life.

I have used the Prizm skimmers in the past and they work "ok" when properly maintained, but they are loud.

imo, i wouldn't waste my money on a skimmer for a 10 gallon. water changes should be enough.

I've hear mixed things some people tell me to get a skimmer others don't. I've been doing small weekly water changes and dosing my tank with additives. Would the 2 gal fuge be enough and not add a skimmer?

You can easily do a 10g without a skimmer. But if you really want one look into the Bubble Magus NAC-QQ.
