Disappearing fish ...again
Last month I posted about a missing melanarus that ended up not being being missing. He replaced a mystery wrasse that went missing overnight. Now the 2 clownfish I've had for 4 years have gone missing. One last night and the other the night before. Both healthy and no signs of any trouble. I think I have a pest of some sort. Im ready to tear down my rock and find out what is going on. Losing two 4 year old fish is the last straw. Anyone have any good suggestions for extracting whatever pests may be in rocks? Freshwater soaking?

well you didnt list the other fish in your tank. so, barring another fish it sounds like you either have a very large worm or more likely a mantis shrimp. you going to have to take each rock out and examine for the shrimp and the worm will most likely be in the sand. either one should be pretty good size to take out the size fish you describe so it/they should be easy to find.
also, im not sure if you are aware that wrasses hide in the sand if stressed or frightened, and to sleep at night. |

2 clowns, flame angel, couple of gobies, blenny, mandarin, coris wrasse, melanarus wrasse.
Sorry about that. I thought I copied and pasted my original missing fish thread from a month ago.
