Sump Layout Input
i figured out a design i thought would work best for my 150 gallon tank (72 x 18 x 29). i just wanted to get a few perspectives on it and if you think my measurements (baffle heights and baffle spacing) are sufficient. the picture does not have the baffle spacing but i planned on having them 1.5 inches from eachother and 1.5 inches off the bottom glass.
i was also wondering what you thought about miracle mud on the bottom of the fuge as a substrate? i was either going to use that or put 4-5 inches of sand on the bottom of the fuge. please let me know what you guys think or any suggestions! thank you andrew

Skimmer section need only be large enough to fit skimmer.
Pump section should be as large as possible because that is where evap. shows up. Best layout according to Marc levenson (melevs reef) is return pump in middle of sump. I used MM as a substrate and never changed any for 10+ yrs. |

i wanted to do the sump in the middle but found it easier to have it in the third baffle. i may try the miracle mud then... not sure just yet.
