skimmer Not skimming

Ok I have an asm g2 skimmer with a brand new Sedra 3500 pump I just bought, I also modded the impeller with a mesh mod.. After 2 days I still don't see the bubbles climbing on top of another and hasn't skimmed anything. All I see is little bubbles sparkling up inside the cup? Can anyone help me out please??

New skimmers have a break in period. It’s always best to run activated carbon during the break in period to help remove any residue left by the manufacturing process. It may take a week or more to start producing skim mate.

Oh ok because the body of the skimmer is old only the Sedra pump is new .. I also had the tank runnin for 3 months does the break in period still count even with these things I just mentioned?

Sure does if the skimmer was clean and dry.

Also the break in period has nothing to do with how long the tank has been running.
