Aqua Euro USA 125 Success?
I've had an Aqua Euro USA 125 Protein Skimmer for over a year and it has never produced the way I would expect it to. It either doesn't pull anything, or it pulls water. I haven't been able to find the middle ground.
I'm looking for people that have had success with this skimmer. How do you have it set up? I haven't been able to find much information about this brand on here so any stories of success would be encouraging. Otherwise I may ditch this thing and try something else. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...6&goto=newpost this is Mojo's thread. Your skimmer is not oversized for your tank. I would ask Mojo he is one of the skimmer guru's here. PS I was thinking about getting your type skimmer for my sons 33 gallon tank. looking forward to see how it goes.

Hi moondoggy,
I talked to Mojo over in the other thread and his recommendation was to replace it with a skimz 121 or a Warner Marine MF121. I think I will be looking at one of those or a Reef Dynamics INS80. I borrowed an old version of the Reef Dynamics from a buddy a while ago and had been really impressed with its performance. It sounds like the other two may be even better. Since you had some interest in the Aqua Euro, here are my impressions of it. I don't like the intermediate chamber under the collection cup. I find that it makes the skimmer harder to clean and tends to make everything more of a mess. I have also found it to be difficult to get adjusted compared to other skimmers I have worked with. I also haven't been able to find much information, or opinions, positive or negative anywhere. I'm surprised there isn't more info or more inquiries out there since they are so much more affordable than others in the same size category. |

Which part of Ca are you in. Will you be going to the MAX show this April in the OC. You can get good deals there. PS the reef dynamics are great skimmers I used to own a older version of the RS 80 aka INS 80. Every once in a while Reef Dynamics has a blem sale and they are very affordable.

I'm up in the Sacramento area. I don't have any plans to go the the MAX show but maybe I'll have to look into it. The RS 80 is actually what I have experience with. When I first set it up I was amazed at how well it worked without any adjustment at all.
