fluval 406 with bulkhead
is it possible to run the fluval 406 filter using bulkheads? i don't like how the hose goes over the tank. if it is possible, what size bulkhead do i need for a 56 gallon tank 30"x18"x24".

Yes ran 2 of them when I had a fresh setup. Think it was a 1" for the input, diddnt want to restrict it. Had issues with the seals on the canisters after awhile and swaped them out for a sump.

So if I wanted to run the glass-holes.com 1500Gph overflow kit with just one 1.5" bulkhead as drain I would be fine and use the other bulkhead for a return? Or should I just get the 700gph kit?

So if I go with the drain setup in the pic I posted what size should I get if the fluval 406 filters 383 gph max? So far I've read that.......
1" - 600gph 1.25" - 937gph 1.5" - 1350gph 2" - 2400gph And what about the return bulkhead size? I was planning on puttin the flexible ball socket tubing kit on it. Any advice/input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Last edited by Altezza01; 01/27/2012 at 09:42 AM. |
