Finnex heaters??

Anyone know if the Finnex titanium heaters are any good? Looking at a 300W for my 72 gallon...

Always, buy a few smaller heaters instead of 1 large one in case of failure IMO. Less likely to cook your tank if one sticks on. With that said, i prefer the Eheim Ebo-Jager heaters. I've used them for 20 years without incident. (yet)

I have not read about any heaters that have a great record. There have been a couple threads on RC lately mentioning good reviews for the ebo-jager heaters though. I just went through this and bought a Finnex controller with a 300w titanium heater as well. So far so good but that is only about 1 month!

I ended up ordering a 200W for my 72. Dont have much of a temperature issue in my tank. As it sits it stays above 72 on the coldest nights right now but just want to keep it right in that 76-78 range.

Strongly agree on both points here.

I have had a bad experience with them. I have about 5 heaters in the 2-300 range and the Finnex was the first to die on me. The Ebo- jagers are still going strong, as well as some Petsmart heater that I bought in an emergency. I was not impressed by the heater at all. Although, I am still using the controller on a different heater.

Wouldn't the controller be the part that stuck on, not the actual heater since its power comes directly from the controller?

The controller on my 500w Finnex that's under 6 months old just seems to flicker on/off and not stay on the desired temperature. I'm awaiting to hear back from Finnex for warranty.
