I am getting PMs on how Profilux does this.
So will post this here.

Profilux does it by using two sensors.

The first sensor is your lowest point where how much you want to drain to that level.

Second sensor is your normal level, where the tank level is kept at.

Keep in mind, I have these sensors in my sump.
You can trigger AWC (auto water change) by two ways.

1) By timer, once a day, twice day or by any schedule you deemed necessary.
2) By manual means, by hitting the AWC in the front panel, computer software or if your lucky to own a touch screen panel.

When the AWC is triggered, Profilux will turn a socket on, this socket will activate the Solenoid Valve your using to take water out. I brought the 1/4" NPT Electric Solenoid Valve 12-Volt DC from ebay.
I connected this to my main pump coming from my sump with a tee. So I use my main pump to drain my water, one less pump needed.

The socket for drain will stop when the low sensor is triggered. Once the Profilux see the low sensor activated. It will stop the drain.
Then it will turn a second socket on, this socket is connected to your mixing tank.
I have small pump with my mixing tank, always keeping my saltwater moving.

I also have a second 1/4" NPT Electric Solenoid Valve 12-Volt DC tee also with that mixing pump line.

Profilux will stop feeding saltwater to your sump, once the normal level sensor is triggered.

This all happens within Profilux code, nothing special to write. You just need to tell what sockets your using and set the timer when you want AWC to happen.

You can also set ATO using the same sensor, just need a third 1/4" NPT Electric Solenoid Valve 12-Volt DC connected to your RODI water supply line.

You need the following;
1 Profilux controller, any model will work.
2 Sensors, Profilux has the normal float or the optical versions, I use the optical, so much nicer.
1 Level Splitter Cable.
3 1/4" NPT Electric Solenoid Valve 12-Volt DC, Ebay has them.

Some related PVC plumping like tees and some 1/4 fittings.

I can provide some pictures of my setup if you want it.

Also with this setup, you can do small AWC during the day, everyday. Just make sure to keep the mixing tank fill with Saltwater.
If you run out of water, you will get alarm so you know you did not reach the second level, so there is safety built in.

I love the Tunze osmo Ato.

I tried the DIy type (not very relaible)
JBJ ATO (Bad design: can overflow or get stuck)

I havent tried anything else since the Tunze does such a good job at only $180-$200

Autotopoff.com for me also on 2 tanks, very simple, effective, and reliable.

I love my Elos digital... I saw where some people had some issues with the sensor, but I've had absolutely no issues.
