Macro is fading to white!?

On Friday I got a phew pieces of macro and a bunch of snail in from reefcleaners.com. Snails are all lookin good but my macro is turning white. I got 1 bunch of green Grasilaria and 1 red Grasilaria. They are both slowly dying back from the tips. They were left out in the cold for some time befor I got home and I'm wondering if they got burned from the cold or if they just don't like my tank/lighting. They are in my fuge with a FW plant bulb and stuck in a 3"agronite bed. My parameters are good. Only thing I'm reading is my nitrate. It's been high for a while now and was hopping macro would help. I'm getting tired of MASIVE water changes with distilled water. I'm going to set up a RODI soon but the snapon tools guy keeps piping up with sweet $100 deals every week.

Can you post pics? It depends on how white, and where.

For example, halimeda turns stark white from lack of light. But new growth on caulerpa prolifera can be white on the tips.

If you're sure it looks sickly/dying, prune back the bad part and the good stuff should still grow if the environment is suitable.

I can't do pics. My camera on my phone is way scratched. I set up a photobucket account but pics don't turn out.

I'm planning on ordering chaeto on next Monday. That way I csn ship it too work and be there to get it and keep it inside and warm. I'll just order more of this stuff then I placed a small order to see how much I Actualy get pr order and see just what it was. I like the look so I'll get more. I want a little bit in my DT to keep pods safe because Im a big fan of dragonets.

Saltydrip....when you ask these visual question continually we cannot help you without a visual aid such as pictures.

It would be like me saying. I have this spot on my arm, it’s kind of a round thing but maybe a little oblong with slightly squared corners, it’s kind of a pinkish, redish, purpleish color.

What is it?

No I'm kidding. I wasn't sure if it was a normal thing or not. That's really all I was looking for.

And no that spot isn't normal! I would go for a hot iron and burn that sucker clean!!!
