I think you would need a bigger one.. That wont do your tank.

I'm not sure, but that looks a lot like a bubble magus skimmer, maybe a knockoff?
I just ordered the bubble magus nac5.5 cone skimmer (witch is rated for about the same size as your find on e-bay) for my 40G breeder and 25G sump, so yes, I think it's a bit on the small size for your tank. But it all depends on how your tank is stocked, do you want to keep SPS? then you need a monster skimmer. But if this is to be a lightly stocked tank with some LPS, you might get away with it. Just another piece of advice, if you get a skimmer, make sure it works properly, better a skimmer that is too small but works great than a big skimmer that doesn't do it's job ( believe me, I learnt that the hard way!) Hope this helps |

From what I have read they're great. There are several posts over in the equipment forum praising them. Setup and long term use are great according to everything I have read. They do make a 180 gal model so search for that and if you don't find it, wait a week and they will have another auction.

Here's the thread on this skimmer:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...7#post19860997 Overall, the reviews are positive. This thread also discusses the SCA-302 180, which would probably be a better choice for your system.

If you want to save cash you can't go wrong with the sc180!!!
The 6" reef octopus isn't big enough!!! You need a 180-200g skimmer. Tanks just about always end up over stocked and when we have the right number of fish early on they grow and once again your overloaded. Get the bigger sc180 if your on a budget. It's the biggest skimmer for the money and a damn good one too.
