Big Centipede looking thing in my tank?!?!
Soo I just got home from work and turned my tank light on and a long centipede looking thing was crawling on one of my rocks.. I couldn't get a clear picture, but I'm kinda nervous because I've never seen this. My tank has been up for over a week and it's the first time this thing has been out. Bristleworm I'm thinking. It was I'd say 5 inches.
Also, I got like tons of little shrimp now, too. Are those okay?? Fishyfood?! Last edited by Mergo; 02/11/2012 at 11:30 PM. |

centipede is likely a bristleworm... you will get mixed opinions on them, but normally not a problem.
little shrimp: are probably copepods. good to have! and food for some fish. |

I have a elderly lady I set a reef up for-never had a fish tank- and a success story you would not believe. We she likes to feed the fish, which means there is wasted food. She has a 46 bow front tank, and I found a bristleworm that could stretch the entire 36 inches of the front of the tank. First time we ever saw it in 5 years with no tank additions. Now it comes out when she feeds-its kind of like the movie Dune.
